The Trustees of the GT Foundation led by the Managing Trustee Dr. V. Ravichandran had the privilege of honoring two of the eminent personalities of India at the TejoDiya 2012. The personalities were namely Mr. Sarathbabu Elumalai, an Entrepreneur Par Excellence, a social worker, a philanthropist, a rare politician, and the C.E.O of FoodKing Catering services Pvt. Ltd. whose vision is to offer employment to illiterate and semi-illiterate people through Food King and see a Hunger free India in his lifetime and Mr. Gopalakrishna Iyer an eminent flutist and musicologist who has rendered yeoman service to teach and popularize Carnatic Classical Music in the South Kanara Region.
The other chief guests who graced the occasion were Mr. Amar Lal Daultani, Executive Director, Corporation Bank, Mr. Anil K, Regional Manager, Indian Overseas Bank, and Dr. B. M. Hegde, Former Vice-Chancellor of the Manipal University. On this occasion, Dr. V. Ravichandran launched a unique program that supports the critical care needs of the patients admitted at the Lady Goschen Hospital, Mangalore. Dr. Priya Ballal accepted the cheque presented in support of the GT Foundation. A letter of sponsorship for the purchase of computers was also provided to one of the local Educational Institutions. On the cultural front, Ustad Rafique Khan’s fusion music, Sri Gopalakrishna Iyer’s recital, and Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy’s Bharathanatyam dance recital entertained the gathering.
